Donald Trump’s latest ultimatum to enforce an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods has been described as a “typical example” of American hypocrisy, per the China’s leadership.

A official from China’s Commerce Ministry additionally remarked that Beijing could enact its own undisclosed “responsive actions” if the American leader follows through on his pledge, adding that the country was “fearless” of a looming trade war.

This past Friday, the former president hit back at Beijing’s move to reinforce its rules for foreign shipments of rare earth minerals, accusing the Chinese leadership of “turning aggressive” and attempting to hold the world “under its control”.

“Using” tariff threats is not the proper method to deal with Beijing,” the official commented.

“China’s position on a import duty dispute has remained consistent: we wish to avoid one, but we are not afraid of one.”

The previous week, the Chinese government declared it was tightening foreign shipment restrictions on rare earths and further resources vital for cutting-edge industry.
