WHere is a simplified version of a beverage from our latest drinks list. It's a batch prepared mix which is loaded with the essence associated with holiday season, making it excellent for a holiday party. Reserve the remaining cordial to use in brunch beverages, sweets, or for more rounds of the drink.
The Bikini Cocktail
Serves 10 guests
For the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
Ingredients for the Cocktail (yields 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing
Directions
Making the Citrus Syrup: Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a light boil, mixing so the sugar melts. Next, turn off the stove and let it to reach room temperature completely. Transfer to a sealable bottle, close it and refrigerate it chilled, it can be stored for around four weeks.
To make Batch Mix: Pour all the liquids in a large bottle, leave to sit for 60 minutes, then filter it preferably using cheesecloth, so it's perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Add 85ml from the cocktail base into a mixing glass containing ice, and agitate carefully for one minute to chill. Strain into an cold coupe glass or equivalent, decorate with some cranberries and complete it using a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
